Awarding Body Officer

Awarding body officers are members of staff employed by the awarding body to manage all stages of the examining process, from specification development to awarding. Also known as subject officers or professional officers, awarding body officers are each responsible for one or more specifications. The officer must ensure that all stages of the examining process are carried out in accordance with the QCA Code of Practice and with the awarding body's own policies and procedures. The officer also provides examining personnel and committees with all necessary administrative, subject specialist and technical support. If any issues or concerns arise in the course of the examining process, the awarding body officer must alert the appropriate members of the awarding body's senior management, including the accountable officer.
