ASCL reaffirm support for Chartered Educational Assessor
The CIEA is working collaboratively with a number of professional membership organisations within the education sector to champion the concept of Chartered Educational Assessor.
On 4th - 7th March, the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) held its Annual Conference in Central London that attracted over 500 delegates.
In the closing speech of outgoing ASCL Secretary General and long-standing member and advocate of the CIEA, John Dunford, took the opportunity to affirm ASCL's commitment and support of the CIEA's Chartered Educational Assessor (CEA) programme.
Dunford stated "The association has long championed the use of Chartered Educational Assessors - experienced teachers accredited to carry out internal assessment to external standards".
CIEA Chief Executive, David Wright, responded to this ringing endorsement: "The CIEA is pleased to hear that ASCL has taken the opportunity to reaffirm its continued support for the CEA programme at the close of its popular annual conference. ASCL is a key stakeholder organisation of the CIEA and we look forward to working in collaboration with this organisation in the future."
Dunford also took the opportunity to advise that the CIEA should ramp up its offering following the forthcoming election at all of the key stages.
Wright agreed with this comment and responded: "The CIEA continues to develop and grow with the support of government bodies and non-government organisations including the ASCL. This year alone we will double the population* of CEAs and we continue to offer our members continued help and support."
The CIEA held an exhibition stand at the event and took the opportunity to network with conference delegates.
