Doctorate (PhD/EdD)
Following the successful launch of the accreditation scheme for members with a Masters level qualification in assessment, the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors (CIEA) will be extending the scheme to those with doctoral level qualifications. Success in the doctoral study will enable professionals automatically to apply to the CIEA for Chartered status
Initially, the University of Bristol is involved in a pilot to develop the criteria and process for accreditation. Both PhD and professional doctorates (EdD) are included in the scheme. Professional doctorates are normally taken part-time by those in employment and many of the students are mid-career or senior educationalists. Information about doctoral level study related to the accreditation scheme follows.
